It's a day off for the  Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in Salzburg.  WQED-FM's Jim Cunningham calls in live to Anna Singer to talk about last night's concert which concluded the Salzburg Festival.   Manfred Honeck talks about the concert and the tour so far.  And cellist Allie Thompson talks about playing next to a casino in Wiesbaden and what she's looking forward to on the rest of the tour.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has arrived in Germany safe and sound to begin their European Festivals Tour.  Jim Cunningham calls in live from Wiesbaden with his first report of the tour.   He talks about the first rehearsal and the German city.  We also hear from some members who went for a run in the streets of Wiesbaden to train for a musicians run planned for Pittsburgh in September.

Mayor Bill Peduto has proclaimed August 8th to be PianoDay in Pittsburgh.  On that day, a new Steinway Concert and Artist grand piano will be transported around the city for a series of outdoor concerts and photo opportunities.  The organizer of the event, Peter Stumpf, stopped by WQED-FM to talk about the event.
